Youth First 2018

The Youth First project aims to provide a safe environment for children and young people from the age of 5-25 years to carry out a range of activities. Youth First focus is upon youth and teen development, this provides a focal point for progressive youth work practice in the area through the delivery of activities designed in partnership with young people and other youth providers and aimed at meeting identified needs.

There is an emphasis throughout the project on promoting the active involvement of young people in the design and implementation of programmes. Youth First seeks at all times to provide an environment, services and programmes which are conducive in positively enhancing the personal, social, education development of children and young people in the Bogside and Brandywell area through innovative youth provision.

A great deal of effort and work goes into designing basic programmes aimed at instilling responsibility and ownership of the club to individuals who tend to be difficult to engage and those who face barriers to learning. 

Youth First is funded by Children in Need and EA/DFC.
